On a very overcast, but British day, I headed to Rye to capture an English street scene for a poster. Mermaid Street in Rye looked to be the perfect place to visit, and being somewhere I had never been beforeI was looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.
Usually I like to wait until sunrise or sunset and catch the light at its best, but on this occasion, due to overcast weather and rain showers, this wasn`t posssible, but despite that, I am really happy with the outcome.
Such rich colours and beautifully composed.
Interested to know your weapons of choice.
What lens and body?
Graeme
Hi Graeme, thanks for the kind words. Weapons of choice for me when traveling and landscape is always Mirrorless. It is interesting as I didnt expect to come out with a usuable shot form this day, but I used the Olympus EM1 with the 35-100 F2.8 Lens. The IBIS on the sensor also allows to hand held most shots aswell even in low light, so really it is the perfect tool for anyone that wants high quality images as well as portability. I am finding that anytime I go out taking landscape photos the DSLR always stays at home!!! Other weapon of choice would be the A7 series of cameras, I used to have an A7r which was superb, but lack of lens choice and lack of IBIS (although this has now changed with the A7mk2 now having IBIS on sensor) was a factor why I decided to stick with the micro four thirds format.
